EARTHA BANDHANI COTTON - MERCHANT & MILLS

MERCHANT & MILLS
An unusual south Indian cotton with a soft and silky handle, similar to sateen. A beautiful rust brown that has been hand dyed using an Indian Bandhani technique in red and white.
Bandhani is a traditional tie-dye technique where the cloth is pinched with fingernails and bound in thread. This gives the fabric lots of dots of different colours.
Please note that some of the threads may still be on the reverse of the cloth, just give it shake, and they will fall off!
*Ironing will flatten the crinkle effect of the fabric.
- 3oz, 100gsm.
- 100cm wide.
- 100% cotton.
- Country of origin; India.
- Indian handlooms are sometimes susceptible to irregularities in the weave due to their handmade nature, this is all part of their charm and are not classed as flaws.
- For the first couple of washes, place the fabric in the washing machine drum at 30 or 40 degrees with a handful of table salt. This will help fix the dye to prevent it running.
